Keanu and I have been spending some great time together. The best thing he has done so far in the past two months is to take me on a spontaneous trip to the Bahamas. I insisted on having my own hotel room and he completely respected my wish. We had so much fun in the sun that he promised me that he will bring me back again very soon. That is a promise I am going to hold him to.
I check my makeup at his front door before ringing the doorbell. He has invited me to have dinner with him at his house. I can’t say I was 100 percent sure if this was a good idea. He however insisted that we needed a quiet atmosphere so we can talk to each other about some important matters.
At dinner he made certain that our chairs were side by side. No sitting across the table from each other for us. I truly appreciate the scrumptious meal he has prepared for us. The way he looks into my eyes causes my face to heat up. Sometimes I have to turn away from him. It is far too dangerous for us to be so close to each other right now because we are still not officially back together yet. As much as I want us to be, it has to be mutually decided together.
After dinner, he takes me outside to sit on his balcony. The sky is really dark tonight and the clouds are not that visible either. The moon is so lovely though. It is only a quarter moon, but it is quite hypnotizing. But it is not enough to distract me from a burning question I have in my heart. I take a sip of my wine before throwing my question at him.
“What is so important for us to talk about?”
He lightly touches my nose. “That is one thing about you, that will never change.”
“What is that?”
“How cute you are?”
Though it is a compliment, it’s not what I was hoping to hear.
“I apologise for breaking your heart. When I ended our relationship, I was just going through lot of stuff. But I need you to know that I regretted that decision ever since.”
“And?”
He turns me to face him. He looks deep into my eyes before he can find his voice.
“I want you to be my baby again.”
I take a sip of my champagne. “How do I know things will be different this time around? What’s going to happen when things get tough for you again? I will be tossed out on my ass.”
“That’s not going to happen. You know that I’ve never loved another woman the way I love you. You mean a whole lot to me. All I’m asking for is another chance to make you happy. When you’re happy, I feel happy too.”
Before I can have another sip, he takes the glass from my hand. He touches my left cheek gently. His lips touch over mine really light like a feather kiss. He does nothing at all to deepened the kiss. Now I realize that he’s just teasing me, letting me have only a small taste of his lips.
“Please be my baby.”
“I’ll tell you my answer in the morning.”
He picks me up off my feet and carries me into his bedroom. Or more correctly, our bedroom.
